Tubular Columns~~All lighting columns are designed in accordance with the European Standard BS EN 40 for Lighting Columns, which replaces BS 5649. This standard incorporates the latest information relating to lighting columns and their design, taking into account wind speed, site altitude, terrain and topography for any given location.
When purchasing a lighting column the buyer should obtain this criteria to ensure that a suitable product is offered. As this information is not always available the Published Document PD 6547:2004 may be used for guidance. This document contains informative data relating to the administrative areas of the UK providing a rationalised wind loading factor (RWF) for each location.
